Your role at BRE
We are currently seeking an energetic and organised individual to join our team as a Certification Project Manager. You will work closely with the Fire Safety and Security team to:
- Project management of the product approvals process – front facing customers
- Scoping new projects and preparing quotations
- Conducting detailed technical evaluations from initial enquiry to final project sign off
- Compiling and verifying test programmes and technical approval files, reviewing client technical product documentation
- Ensuring compliance with the LPCB schemes, Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and other applicable schemes as appropriate.
- Account manager for a group of clients, ensuring all clients are kept up to date on project progress
- Liaison with internal departments, customers, approval agencies and accreditation bodies
- Working closely with relevant colleagues to ensure tasks are prioritised and delivered in accordance with senior management direction
- Preparing and reviewing test report from internal laboratories
- Supporting client to gain compliance as needed.
- Solving type approval process and test issues
- Assisting with customer enquiries and providing day to day support for customers
Your profile
Some skills that will be necessary for this position include:
Essential
- Basic understanding of engineering principles (ideally holding a recognised qualification)
- Proven project management experience delivering projects on-time to customer specifications within the testing and certification environment
- Experience of product testing or evaluation work
- Excellent organisational, written, and oral communication skills
- Analytical ability, clarity of thought and attention to detail
- Demonstrate experience of interacting with customers competently at all levels
- The ability to build and maintain good customer relations
- Be fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and databases
- Broad experience of working with several clients and products
- Sound understanding of ISO 17065 as applicable, and certification
- Sound knowledge of the Management System Standards (ISO 9001) as applicable
- Broad experience of reviewing the scope of the application and checking against the specifications as applicable to confirm that the team has the required knowledge and understanding of the industry sector and any applicable regulatory requirements to undertake the assessment
- Sound knowledge of the requirements of the UKCA/CE as applicable, and as further described in specific criteria where available
- Excellent understanding of what constitutes conflicts of interest and how to manage them
- Excellent understanding of impartiality and how to safeguard it
Desirable
- A good understanding of the certification/approvals process
- Experience with System approval
- Experience working in UKAS accredited certification environment
- Knowledge within fire rated cables
