About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join our Learning and Development team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This role is central to developing high-quality digital learning experiences that enable colleagues to build technical capability and support BRE’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Translate technical and specialist subject matter into accessible, engaging digital learning.
Collaborate with subject matter experts across the business to extract key knowledge and learning outcomes.
Design and develop digital training materials using tools such as Evolve and Synthesia.
Use generative AI to support content design and accelerate course development.
Build onboarding programmes and upskilling courses for technical and professional audiences.
Ensure content is aligned with learning objectives, accessibility standards, and business needs.
Contribute to the delivery of key learning projects that strengthen organisational capability.
What We Are Looking For
We’re seeking someone who can bring strong instructional design expertise and a passion for digital learning. The successful applicant will possess:
Proven experience in designing and developing digital learning, ideally within a technical or corporate environment.
Proficiency in digital authoring tools such as Evolve, Articulate Rise or Storyline, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates quality and creativity.
Familiarity with AI-powered video tools like Synthesia, and a willingness to explore the use of generative AI in content creation.
Strong grasp of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Ability to translate complex subject matter into accessible, structured learning experiences.
Excellent collaboration skills, with a track record of working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
An understanding of accessibility and inclusive design in digital learning.

Fully Remote – This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK.

Online Assessment

Candidate Review – Week Commencing 5th May
Our specialist hiring team will review all applications and shortlist candidates. We’ll then update you on the outcome of your application.
First Stage Interviews – 12th to 26th May
If shortlisted, we will invite you to a virtual or in-person interview.
Second Stage Interviews – 27th May to 6th June
If successful in the first stage, you will be invited to a virtual or in-person second-stage interview.
