Your role at BRE

This role supports the delivery of fire testing services for construction products, with a focus on roofing materials. Working within the Fire Protection, Passive and Suppression team, the technician will assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of tests in line with relevant fire safety standards.

Essential Criteria

These are required for successful performance in the role:

• Ability to maintain a clean and calibrated laboratory environment

• Self-motivated with a focused and diligent approach to work

• Strong accuracy in note taking, record-keeping, and reporting

• Organised and able to manage own time effectively

• Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities or tasks

• Ability to receive, interpret, and clarify technical work instructions

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Good written communication skills for documentation and reporting

• Reliable with strong punctuality and attendance

Desirable Criteria

These would enhance performance or ease transition into the role:

• Experience working in a UKAS-accredited laboratory environment

• Skills in managing or supporting customer relationships

Work Location Options

On-Site – This role requires full-time presence at our Watford office. You must live within a commutable distance.
