Your role at BRE
As a Housing Consultant within our expanding Housing Data and Insights team, you will contribute to national housing research and data analysis projects that inform housing, energy and health policy across the UK. Working alongside data analysts and data scientists, you’ll support the delivery of insights that help improve housing quality and reduce fuel poverty.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Analyse data from national housing surveys, particularly the English Housing Survey (EHS).
Develop, maintain and validate housing and energy models that inform national and local policy.
Undertake research and numerical modelling on energy efficiency, fuel poverty, housing condition and carbon emissions.
Produce clear and accurate research reports, visualisations and presentations for clients.
Apply innovative data science methods and emerging technologies to enhance data insight and efficiency.
Support the delivery of BRE’s data strategy through improved processes and analytical accuracy.
Contribute to project delivery, ensuring outputs meet agreed timescales and quality standards.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who can contribute to our data-led approach to improving housing quality and performance. The role requires a blend of technical capability, analytical thinking and a structured approach to delivering high-quality outputs.
What We Are Looking For:
Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience working with large and complex datasets.
Understanding of housing, energy, or environmental data, ideally gained through research or consultancy projects.
Ability to develop, apply, and interpret data models, including household energy or thermal performance models.
Experience using analytical or statistical software such as R, Python or SPSS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights clearly.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
Collaborative mindset, contributing effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement in analytical work.

Work Location Options
Flexi-Hybrid – This role is primarily home-based, with travel to our head office in Watford for planned meetings once a week.
