Your role at BRE
This role is responsible for delivering BRE’s certification services for passive fire protection products and systems. Key responsibilities include:
Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of products against LPCB certification schemes, UKCA, and Construction Products Regulation requirements.
Manage certification projects from initial enquiry to issue of certificate, specification, and scope.
Develop and maintain test schedules, and review test data and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Liaise with internal teams, customers, approval agencies, and accreditation bodies to ensure smooth project delivery.
Participate in internal and external audits to maintain compliance with ISO 17065 and BRE quality standards.
Prioritise and manage work to meet customer and organisational objectives while supporting team efficiency.
What we are looking for
- Technical competence in Passive Fire Protection and knowledge of relevant product standards, regulations, and certification schemes (LPCB, UKCA, CPR).
- Experience in product testing, evaluation, and certification processes, including the review of technical data and documentation.
- Understanding of management system standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organisational skills to plan and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Experience working with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders in a technical or project-focused environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, within the UK and internationally.

Work Location Options
Hybrid – This role offers a mix of home and office working. You will need to be within commuting distance of our Watford office, as you will be expected to attend in person 3 times per week.
