Graduate Research Officer
We are looking for a Graduate Research Officer to join our team and help shape the future of BRE’s research and international development portfolio. This role is an excellent opportunity for a curious, analytical graduate who wants to contribute to evidence-based decision-making across the built environment sector.
About the Role
As a Graduate Research Officer, you will play a key role in developing BRE’s research pipeline and supporting our global growth. You will work across multiple business areas to gather, analyse and interpret data that underpins strategic priorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Undertaking literature reviews, market scanning and evidence synthesis to support new and ongoing research projects
Analysing international policy, market and technology trends
Producing statistics, data summaries and high-quality briefing materials
Supporting impact assessments and evaluation activity
Coordinating inputs for research bids and proposals across BRE
Working collaboratively with technical teams, researchers and subject-matter experts
Tracking developments in key megatrends affecting the built environment, including urbanisation, climate resilience and technological advancement

The salary for this role increases after 12 months to £32k, and then again to £34k after 18 months
About the graduate programme
BRE’s Graduate Programme is an 18-month fast-track development journey designed to launch your career in the built environment. We are looking for recent graduates with backgrounds in:
• Environmental science
• Geography
• Economics
• Urban studies or planning
• Built environment or construction
• Sociology or social policy with a housing focus

Work Location Options
Mostly Remote – This role is primarily home-based, with occasional travel to our head office in Watford for planned meetings.
